Study shows nonprofits are still newbies at Facebook
The Nonprofit Technology Network’s “2011 eNonprofit Benchmarks Study” shows that nonprofits have 110 Facebook fans for every 1,000 email addresses. Given that we’ve entered the “Age of Facebook”, there seems to be a huge opportunity to close this gap over the next couple of years.
Other findings:
- Online fundraising revenue grew overall by 14% between 2009 and 2010, most of which were driven by disasters like Haiti and the flooding in Pakistan.
- The average nonprofit Facebook fan pages had 15,053 fans.
- Facebook users for nonprofit fan pages grew an average of 14% per month in 2010.
