The difference between Users and Interactions in Facebook Insights

Users vs. Interactions

When you click on “Insights” in your admin panel, you’ll be at your Page Overview.

Within your Page Overview, you’ll notice two graphs:

On the left-hand side, you’ll notice that you can drill down deeper into either. These two different sets of reports will show you the following:

User Metrics – This data tells you who your Page connections (also known as fans) are, where they live, what tabs they view the most, what websites they arrive from,their gender and age. This data tells also shows you fan growth, when people unlike your Page, and even how often and when people view your Page.

In short, these reports shows you activity.

Interactions Metrics – This data tells you which posts your fans like the most, which posts they comment on the most, and when they choose to hide your content in their news feed. You can also see how often and when they post stories on your Page, as well as the various types of content.

In short, these reports shows you interest.
